Rosboro MDO Concrete Form Product Offering
Rosboro Select Form - Paneltech 454C Rosboro's Select Form MDO has high masking properties with a mottled surface that yields a concrete finish with moderate wood grain transfer. The Select Form MDO has a 35% resin content that is formulated to resist the action of alkaline concrete fluids and ensure a long form life.
Rosboro High-Flo - Paneltech 407C Rosboro High-Flo MDO has a 38% resin content resulting in a hard abrasion resistant surface. This tough panel was designed to perform pour after pour. This high-resin, alkaline-resistant MDO gives the panel more pours than standard MDO concrete form. Rosboro High- Flo has a translucent olive-green face and the panel yields a smooth matte concrete finish with heavy wood grain transfer. Rosboro High- Flo is not recommended for engineered systems.
Rosboro Basic Form - Paneltech 389C Rosboro Basic Form is our most economical panel that holds up to multiple uses depending on application, service conditions, form maintenance and handling. Rosboro Basic Form is a durable alternative to BB concrete form with MDO-type performance at a competitive cost. Rosboro Basic Form has a brown Kraft face that yields a quality matte concrete finish with moderate to heavy wood grain transfer.
Factory Sealed
- Nox-Crete Form Coating is factory applied to the panel face so the form separates easily from concrete.
- Panels are edge sealed with Edge-Flex 235 to prevent moisture penetration of highly alkaline concrete bleed water into the edges of the plywood forms.
Form Stripping
Metal bars or pry bars should not be used on plywood because they will damage the panel surface and edge. Use wood wedges, tapping gradually when necessary.
Form Maintenance
Concrete form performance depends on proper use and care of the panels. Soon after removal, forms should be inspected for wear, cleaned, repaired, spot primed, refinished and lightly treated with a form-release agent before reusing. Cut or exposed edges should be resealed to prevent moisture absorption and panel swelling.
Do not use form-release agents that contain diesel fuel, mineral spirits, or motor oil as these may soften and eventually degrade both the overlay and the panel itself.
Handling and Storage
Care should be exercised to prevent panel chipping, denting, and corner damage during handling. Panels should never be dropped. The Forms should be carefully piled flat, face-to-face and back- to-back. Forms should be cleaned immediately after stripping and can be solid-stacked in small packages with faces together. During storage, the panels should be kept out of the sun and rain and covered loosely to allow air circulation without heat build-up.
Rosboro Paint Grade MDO Product Offering
Rosboro Paint Grade MDO is an ideal base for paint and is designed to be exposed to the weather when properly finished. MDO performs well without further finishing in applications where it is not exposed to the weather. However when exposed to weather or humid conditions, the panel should be face-primed and top-coated with a compatible solid-color stain or house paint.
Applications for Rosboro Paint Grade MDO panels include; signs, siding, color accent panels, fruit and vegetable bins, transportation sidewalls, cabinets, fertilizer bins, soffits, fascia, and painted exterior surfaces.
Rosboro Select Paint Grade MDO - Paneltech 357P Rosboro Select Paint Grade MDO utilizes a smooth, high masking overlay with superior paint adhesion characteristics and light grain transfer. Rosboro Select Paint MDO machines well and is a good choice for decorative applications. Rosboro Select Paint Grade MDO can be used with UV paints.
Rosboro Paint Grade MDO - Paneltech 427P Rosboro Paint Grade MDO utilizes a smooth, high masking overlay with good paint-adhesion characteristics. Rosboro Paint Grade MDO should not be used with UV paints.
Like any finish material, Rosboro MDO should be stored in a cool dry place out of the sun and protected from heat or high humidity conditions that exist at construction sites. Be sure that panels are dry when finish is applied and that paint manufacturers recommendations are followed.
Panels intended for exterior exposure should be edge sealed as soon as possible. Edge sealing is not permanent nor does it necessarily make the edges moisture proof. Edge sealing does minimize sudden changes in moisture content due to weather cycles. Panel edges may be sealed with one or two heavy coats of top-quality exterior house paint primer that is formulated for wood. Edges are most easily sealed while panels are in a stack.

FAQ
Low Formaldehyde Emissions
When choosing Rosboro's APA trademarked engineered wood panels, you can be sure the glues used in their manufacture are safe for both builders and consumers. Performance panels manufactured in accordance with U.S. Voluntary Product Standards PS 1 and PS 2 use phenol formaldehyde. Their unique chemistry makes these waterproof adhesives highly durable and stable, resulting in low formaldehyde emissions. APA Rated panels use only moisture resistant adhesives that are exempt from U.S. HUD and California formaldehyde regulations due to their very low emission rates.
