With increased design values and a wide range of sizes (widths of 3-1/8" through 8-3/4", depths of 6" through 30" in 1-1/2" increments), this dependable glulam is stronger and better than ever. Greater Strength and Dependability Our stock glulam is manufactured from mechanically stress-rated lumber. Over the years, technology has improved, resulting in a higher-performing glulam with substantially higher design values. Appearance Flexibility Although there is no structural difference between Industrial, Architectural and Framing Appearance glulams, our line of stock glulams offers the convenience of being available in three different appearance standards to meet the builder's specific needs.
Architectural Appearance: This type of glulam is used in applications in which the members are exposed for viewing. Voids larger than ¾" are filled, low laminations are repaired and all exposed faces are surfaced. Industrial Appearance: This glulam is used in concealed applications in which appearance is not important. It is not necessary to fill in holes, low laminations and other surface defects. Narrow faces of the beam are not surfaced. Framing Appearance: This glulam is intended for concealed applications and is available in widths designed to fit flush with standard wall framing. The Framing Appearance standard allows for more irregularities than either the Architectural or Industrial Appearance. Convenient Stock Dimensions Most residential applications require very little or no camber. In fact, the product of choice for an engineered wood floor system normally has zero camber for a perfectly flat construction finish. Since Rosboro's Stock Glulam has a minimal camber of 3,500' radius, Rosboro's BigBeam®, 1.8E IJC and Treated Glulam, which are manufactured with zero camber specifically for these situations, should be specified. Rosboro Stock Glulam is available in the following stock dimensions:
Lengths: Pre-cut garage door headers and lengths up to 68 feet. Widths: Architectural and Industrial Appearance: 3-1/8", 5-1/8", 6-3/4" and 8-3/4". Framing Appearance: 3-1/2" and 5-7/16". Depths: Architectural and Industrial Appearance: 6" thru 30" in 1-1/2" increments. Framing Appearance glulam is available in I-joist-compatible depths. The 3-1/2" width is available from 7-1/2" to 15" deep. The 5-7/16" width is available from 9" to 15" deep.
