Rosboro X-Beam™
Next Generation Glulam
X-Beam, the first architectural stock glulam beam to match standard framing dimensions, has become the choice for a building industry increasingly focused on value engineering. Glulam was traditionally 3-1/8" and 5-1/8" wide and was not flush with standard framing. X-Beam's is 3-1/2" and 5-1/2" wide so it matches framing and the greater widths equate to increased load-carrying capacity (up to +12% for 3-1/2" and +7% for 5-1/2") when compared to conventional glulam.
Cost matters today more than ever and glulam will significantly lower the cost of a framing package. X-Beam is available in conventional and I-Joist compatible depths, as well as 2 x 10 and 2 x 12 depths. In an effort to reduce cost, many multi-family and single family homes are now framed with 2 x 10 and 2 x 12 joists. X-Beam can be supplied in 9-1/4" and 11-1/4" depths to match dimension lumber joists.

Convenience and Strength
With X-Beam, Rosboro delivers a product that serves the needs of builders. There are no longer 3/8" gaps to fill or hardware incompatibilities, just an attractive glulam with seamless fit, increased drilling options, and greater strength. X-Beam's greater widths and wood volume equate to increased load-carrying capacity (up to +12% for 3-1/2" and +7% for 5-1/2").
